Board of Education monthly meetings will take place on these second Tuesdays through the summer:

The Board of Education meets on the second Tuesday of each month, at 7 p.m. in odd-numbered months and 1:30 p.m. in even-numbered months.
Note: The date of the May 2024 Board meeting was moved from May 14 to May 7 due to the Maryland Primary Election on the later date. The meeting time was adjusted from 7 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. to remove a scheduling conflict with the Wicomico County budget hearing the evening of May 7.
The Interactive Media (IM) program of Career & Technical Education will have a year-end open house Wednesday evening complete with student digital art, live performances, and items for sale that were made by the talented IM students. This is a great opportunity for high school students and middle school students to see what they could do in Interactive Media. Everyone is welcome.

The Wicomico Teacher of the Year Spring Celebration was a very special night of celebrating top teachers as well as supporters from the community. Here are some highlights from the evening, including recognition of the 2024 Friends of Education, Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates and the Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council. Thanks to both organizations for what they do to support youth both now and in the past.

Today is the last day of instruction for Wicomico students before spring break. Schools dismiss 3 hours early today. The school system will be closed Thursday through Monday for everyone. On Tuesday, April 2, the Central Office and school offices will reopen. Schools will reopen for instruction on Wednesday, April 3. Have a great spring break!

Congratulations to all of the high school students who took part in the 2023-2024 ACE Mentor Program through Wicomico County Public Schools. Wicomico students recently competed in the ACE (ACE = Architecture, Construction, Engineering) Final Presentation Night, which featured a showcase of individual projects as well as the team competition. Wicomico's ACE team and its "Salisbury Riverfront Recreation Center" proposal carried the day, with Wicomico winning the team trophy over Saints Peter and Paul High, St. Michaels High and Easton High. Wicomico ACE students also received $6,300 in scholarships from the ACE Wicomico board.

The public comment section of the agenda is an opportunity for the Superintendent and Board to listen to individuals’ own comments on topics concerning Wicomico County Public Schools. The Board chairman has the right to limit public comments in length or those concerning personnel or student matters which clearly identify an individual or individuals, appeals or legal matters that are before the Board, negotiations and topics that are more appropriately addressed in closed session or privately with a staff member.
Only verbal comments are permitted during public comment session of a Board meeting. No signs or posters may be displayed by the public during board meetings. Written, printed, audio, or video material may be submitted via comments@wcboe.org.
