College-bound students of Wicomico County Public Schools and their parents attended Senior Application Night Sept. 11, with more than 251 people attending the event held at Parkside High.
Families had the opportunity to hear an overview of the college application process from Salisbury University, and tips on how to write a standout college essay from Johns Hopkins University. The event covered a wide variety of important aspects of the college application process: financial aid and the FAFSA, SchooLinks, scholarships, Finding the Right Fit College, Wor-Wic Community College, and more.
We hope the 251 students and parents in attendance feel informed about the college application process and ready to take the steps to submit college applications in the coming months.
Looking ahead: The College & Career Training Fair is the next event WCPS is offering to support families of students in grades 7-12 who may be considering attending college. This event will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23 at James M. Bennett High. Families can register at www.strivefair.com . We hope to see many students and parents there!
