Our school was identified for Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI) status based on the performance of our students with disabilities and English learner student groups. These groups did not meet the state's performance targets, necessitating additional, targeted support to address their specific learning needs and promote equitable academic outcomes for all students.
We remain fully committed to meeting the needs of each and every student here at James M. Bennett High School. Through intentional collaboration, data-driven instruction, and ongoing professional development, we will continue to work towards closing achievement gaps, strengthening supports, and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed. Additional information can be found by clicking the link below.

Wish our 10th grade students luck as they take the PSAT assessment today! Taking the PSAT in 10th grade, and the SAT in 11th grade, at no cost, is an example of one of the MANY ways students have opportunities to become college and career ready while at JMB.

Health Skills in Action!
Students in Ms. Elliott’s Health Skills classes are wrapping up their Celebrity Drug Death research projects with a gallery walk activity!
Each student researched a celebrity who died from a drug-related cause—learning about the substances involved, their effects, and the dangers of mixing drugs. Through this project, students also reflected on how smart decision-making can help protect them from the risks of drugs and alcohol. 💪✨

Clipper Families,
At JMB, learning is required, and being present is essential to success. Please remember that students should be in class and ready to learn by 7:45 a.m.
Students with five or more unexcused absences are required to make up those days in order to earn their grades back. Without make-up time, grades will appear as E’s on the report card. The end of the term is October 30th, so it’s important that all students stay on track.
Our afterschool program will begin the week of October 20th, offering extra academic support and enrichment opportunities.
Please also note a few other important dates:
October 17 – No school
October 22 – We will be administering the PSAT to all 10th graders and any 9th or 11th grade students who signed up and paid to take the PSAT. All other 9th, 11th and 12th grade students remain home that day and will complete asynchronous work at home through their Google Classrooms.
October 31 – No school - Professional Development for teachers
At this time, JMB offers over 30 clubs and activities. Please encourage your student to get involved—there truly is something for everyone!
Together, let’s finish the term strong and continue charting excellence the Clipper way.
